Floating Rain Gauge
Simple but elegant, this copper rain gauge ages to a classy looking
patina, but that's not all it has going for it. It holds a cobalt-blue,
plastic measuring tube calibrated in 1/4-inch increments with easy-to-read
bright-white numbers. The cobalt tube hides inside the copper until
raindrops start falling. Then it slowly floats up as the rain accumulates.
A decorative iron stake wraps around the copper tube to hold it
off the ground, and since it's coated, the stake won't rust.
